Trello Pricing Explained (2026): Plans, Guests, Automation Quotas and What Each Tier Unlocks
Listen

Trello has four plans and a clear per-user price on each. The questions that decide the bill sit underneath: which views and exports each plan unlocks, how many automation runs you get, and who counts as a billable user. This post walks through all of it using only Trello's pricing page and help centre as they read today, then prices a 12-person team on Trello and on Kavanah.

1. The Four Plans

Free is $0 for up to 10 collaborators per Workspace, with up to 10 boards, unlimited cards, unlimited Power-Ups per board and files up to 10MB. Standard is $5 per user a month billed annually, or $6 monthly: unlimited boards, files up to 250MB, single-board guests, and Trello's AI features. Premium is $10 per user a month billed annually, or $12.50 monthly: Calendar, Timeline, Table, Dashboard and Map views, admin and security features, Workspace templates and simple data export. Enterprise is $17.50 per user a month billed annually, $210 a user a year, with multi-board guests, organisation-wide permissions, Power-Up administration, and SSO and user provisioning through Atlassian Guard, which is included.

2. Who Is Billed

Trello's billing FAQ says anyone added to a Workspace as a normal member or team admin is a billable team member. Guests are where teams get surprised: a guest who is on more than one board in a Workspace is billed at the same rate as a Standard or Premium member. If you work with clients or contractors across several boards, count them before you budget. Atlassian Guard, for SAML single sign-on and enforced two-step login below Enterprise, is a separate subscription starting at $4 a user a month.

3. Automation and Export Limits by Plan

Automation is pooled per Workspace and reset at midnight GMT on the first of each month: 250 runs and 2,500 operations on Free, 1,000 runs and 20,000 operations on Standard, and unlimited runs on Premium and Enterprise within 150,000 operations plus 10,000 per user, capped at 250,000. Every button press or trigger is a run; every action it takes is at least one operation. On exports, any board member can export JSON, CSV export needs a Premium Workspace, and a Workspace-wide export with attachments needs Premium and a Workspace admin.

4. A 12-Person Team, Priced

On Trello Standard, 12 users cost $60 a month billed annually or $72 monthly. If the team needs Timeline or Calendar views, Premium is $120 a month billed annually or $150 monthly. Enterprise is $210 per user a year, $2,520 a year for 12. On Kavanah, 12 seats on Basic cost $36 a month, or $24 billed yearly, and include timeline and calendar views, task dependencies, time tracking and a client portal, with 100 AI credits per seat a month shared across the workspace. Pro is $6 a seat ($4 yearly) with 250 credits a seat. Pay as you go removes the seat fee entirely: after a first credit pack you pay only for AI, in packs from $10 per 1,000 credits.

5. When Trello Is the Cheaper Choice

Trello Free is genuinely generous for small teams: 10 collaborators per Workspace, against Kavanah's free Starter plan of 5 members and 10 projects. If your team is under 10, needs only boards, and stays within 250 automation runs a month, Trello Free costs nothing and is hard to beat. The comparison changes once you need Premium's views, a timeline on every plan, or hours tracked against tasks.

Price Trello on the plan whose views and automation quota you actually need, with every multi-board guest counted. For the full dated comparison of Kavanah, Trello, Asana and ClickUp, see our Trello alternative page.
