Task Management

Tasks are the atomic unit of work in Kavanah. Every task lives inside a project and moves through customizable status columns from open to completed.

Task fields

Title& description — the what and the why.
Status — Open, In Progress, In Review, Completed (or your custom set).
Priority — Normal, Medium or High. A completed task reads Done automatically.
Tag — a free-form label used for filtering and reporting.
Assignees — one or many team members.
Due date& reminder — optional dates that surface in notifications and the timeline view.
Subtasks, notes, links, comments, files — rich attachments for tracking everything in one place.
Time estimate — an AI estimate (e.g. 2h ± 1h) for someone working with AI. Run it from the Estimate chip on the board card or Estimate time in the task, or enter one by hand with Edit manually.

Working on the board

Drag tasks between columns to change status, or use the status menu on the card. The order within a column is preserved per project.
Click any task to open it: subtasks, comments, files, links, properties, dependencies, version history and a Start Timer / Stop Timer button. Click Edit Task to change its details, then Save Changes.
Click a card's Estimate chip to get an AI time estimate without opening the task; click it again to re-estimate. Each estimate uses AI credits.
Tick the select box on several cards to bulk-set Status, Priority or Due date, or delete them.
Filter by Status, Assignee, Tag or Due Date (with / without a due date, upcoming, overdue), and sort from the toolbar. Esc closes an open task; Cmd/Ctrl+Enter posts a comment.
Archive a task from its detail panel to hide it from the board without deleting anything — id, comments, and history stay intact. Browse and restore archived tasks any time from the board's Archived view.

Importing & exporting

Migrating from another tool? A project's Integrations tab has Import CSV (including Jira and Asana exports) and exports to Standard, Jira or Asana CSV, or Board JSON. Trello and Monday.com boards can be imported as new projects. Over the API, pass projectName instead of projectRef to import into a new project (up to 1,000 tasks).
